CDA stands for Controlled Droplet Application.
The targeted application of fine droplets with a defined spectrum at low spray volume is made possible by a rotating nozzle disc.
Uniformly sized droplets are formed on its serrated edge and centrifugally flung outward, where they then fall down due to gravity.
CDA spray result on water-sensitive paper
Comparison of CDA to conventional nozzle
Instead of the usual 300 - 600 liters of spray liquid per hectare, approximately 10 – 30 liters per hectare suffice with the same herbicide application rate; the preparation is therefore applied more concentrated.
There is long-standing practical experience with glyphosate products (e.g., Roundup® UltraMax and Basta®). Depending on the device type, the droplet size is about 200 – 300 µm. The result: optimal distribution with minimal drift risk.
Advantages of CDA Devices
Operational Efficiency:
Cost savings through reduced use of spray agents and water
Droplet distribution and uniform droplet size for better spray results
Significantly faster spraying process
Increased Productivity:
Much less spray liquid needed compared to conventional nozzle technology
Significantly reduced time required
CDA handheld devices greatly reduce physical effort compared to conventional backpack sprayers
Safe Spraying:
Reduced user errors due to fatigue, as the process is less strenuous than with a backpack sprayer
Fewer mixing and filling operations, where contamination is most likely
Lower Environmental Impact:
Reduced water demand
Lower soil contamination compared to spraying with a nozzle, as well as much more targeted application
Why Crows Pose a Threat to Gardens and Industrial Sites – Effective Crow Repellents
Crows are highly intelligent birds that quickly acquire new skills. Especially during the winter months, they look for food sources and tend to settle in places where food is easy to find. These include private gardens, industrial sites, and other quiet, well-lit areas. However, in urban areas, crows can cause significant hygiene problems due to their droppings and damage to equipment. Therefore, it is important to take measures for crow control early on.
Why Crows and Ravens Can Become a Nuisance
Crows are not only skilled but also highly adaptable. In search of food, they often peck holes in silage bales, seals, or other materials. If you set up feed stations for native songbirds, it is advisable to use feeders with small openings and regularly remove spilled food to avoid attracting crows unnecessarily.
Moreover, crows in winter often gravitate towards quiet, populated areas like industrial sites or places with constant lighting. These spots offer shelter and food, but they can lead to serious hygiene problems and damage to equipment.
How to Effectively Repel Crows and Ravens Long-Term
To keep crows away in the long term, effective scaring techniques are essential. Crow control should begin in the winter to prevent the birds from finding a suitable nesting site for the spring. We recommend making the area as unattractive as possible to make life difficult for crows.
Depending on your needs and situation, we offer various crow control systems:
Purivox Noise Deterrents
These devices are a reliable means of bird control. Thanks to various settings, they effectively prevent crows from getting used to the noise level, ensuring the birds do not habituate.
Acoustic Bird Control Systems
For larger sites, especially near residential buildings, BirdGard acoustic devices are ideal. These devices intermittently play the fear, warning, and panic calls of crows, triggering a natural defensive reaction and causing the birds to avoid the affected areas.
Crow Decoys
Another method, especially suitable for homes and gardens, is crow decoys. These trigger a flight instinct in crows, causing them to avoid the area.
Other Scaring Methods for Crows and Ravens
In addition to the above measures, we offer a wide range of other crow control products tailored to your specific needs. Whether it’s protecting your garden, industrial site, or another facility, we have the right solution for you.

Why Are Gray Herons a Threat to Fish ponds? – Effectively Protect Your Pond
The gray heron is an elegant bird with long legs and a flexible neck. For pond owners, however, it poses a serious threat – a true pond predator. Especially in spring, when herons must feed their young, the food demand increases significantly. A single gray heron consumes between 300–500 g of fish daily, regardless of the fish species. Particularly at risk are goldfish, roach, and valuable koi carp. Herons prefer fish between 10–30 cm in length, that stay in shallow water. Once spotted, the heron will return repeatedly.
Why Are Herons a Threat to Pond Fish?
Herons primarily hunt in shallow waters and prefer fish that stay near the surface. This makes ponds, especially in the spring and summer, particularly vulnerable. The danger to pond fish is especially high when the heron regularly returns to the water. Long-term damage from gray herons can result in the loss of valuable fish.
What Methods Help Against Herons at the Pond?
For effective gray heron repulsion, it is important to use sustainable and animal-friendly solutions. Decoys or plastic herons are often not successful in the long run, as birds quickly get used to them. Better are tested, practical protection measures that guarantee lasting repulsion:
Noise deterrent devices for fish farms
Especially suitable for larger facilities or fish farms that are not in residential areas. Purivox noise deterrent devices offer adjustable settings that prevent habituation. This ensures the effect on gray herons remains long-term.
Motion-activated water sprayers for garden ponds
For private pond systems, the Jet Spray is ideal. This motion-activated water sprayer detects the movement of a heron and immediately activates a targeted water jet. The detection range is up to 10 m in a 120° arc – effective, flexible, and completely animal-friendly.
Pond nets as a safe protection
A proven method is to stretch nets over the pond with nets. It is important that the nets are not directly on the water surface but are fixed at a certain distance. This prevents the heron from reaching for fish through the mesh.
Other Measures to Successfully Repel Herons
In addition to the measures mentioned above, there are many other heron repulsion strategies that can be applied depending on the pond size and the pond owner's needs. Additional tips on heron repulsion can be found here.
Woodpeckers are true masters at pecking – they can strike wood or facades up to 20 times per second. Especially in urban areas, woodpecker damage to facades is increasing because there are often fewer trees. Facades resemble natural tree trunks to the birds: the plaster looks like bark, and the insulation has a texture similar to wood. Why woodpeckers attack facades: Spring: Mating season – facades are used as resonators. Autumn: Nesting – cities offer easily accessible “sleeping cavities,” while building one in a tree would take weeks. Vertical structures like walls attract woodpeckers, especially if insects hide in cracks or under windowsills. Uncontrolled pecking can create deep holes in plaster and insulation. Water penetration often leads to costly facade damage, usually not covered by building insurance. Woodpecker deterrence – legal & effective: Since woodpeckers are protected by law, they cannot be hunted, but they can be repelled. Depending on the situation, we recommend a combination of the following methods: Decoys of great spotted woodpecker or black woodpecker – signaling that the territory is occupied. Bird of prey decoys (hawks) – natural predators that deter silently. Whistle tape / noise elements – when stretched tightly, they produce whistling sounds in the wind that repel woodpeckers. More articles on woodpecker deterrence can be found here. Protect facades with Purivox bird deterrent devices: With our bird deterrent devices, you can reliably protect facades. Purivox offers tailored solutions for every building and situation. Contact us today and solve your woodpecker problem permanently. By the hundreds, wild geese (barnacle geese, greylag geese, white-fronted geese) settle on the coast for overwintering. While the calm shallow water zones of the Wadden Sea and the Elbe River provide protection and rest at night, by day they forage on grassland and arable land in search of food.
Why wild geese become a plague on farmland
The freshly sown plants on agricultural lands are especially protein-rich and nutritious – one reason why geese prefer these areas. Compared to natural wet meadows or salt marshes, the cereal fields and arable lands are a true delicacy for wild geese. The damage that geese inflict on fields can cause immense economic harm and put agricultural production at risk.
Soil compaction and contamination by wild geese
Besides the tremendous feeding damage, geese compact the soil during their foraging. This leads to poor water absorption and long‑term damage to the plants. Additionally, geese leave large amounts of droppings, which not only lead to hygiene issues but also negatively affect plant growth.
How to reliably drive away wild geese – Effective deterrence solutions
In order to permanently keep wild geese away from your arable lands, effective deterrent measures are necessary. There are various methods that can be adapted individually depending on the scale and impact. In addition to possibly redesigning the environment to create alternative refuge areas, specially developed bird control systems are available to drive geese away in the long term.
Repelling geese with noise barrage devices
The Purivox noise‑barrage devices are one of the most effective methods for bird control. With the various adjustment options of these devices, you prevent geese from becoming accustomed to the noise level. Bird control becomes particularly effective with the use of a digital timer, allowing you to set different daily programs. The Purivox FUNK Karussell Triplex V is the top model, which allows you to control the device either via a random automatic program, manually via remote control, or in a combination of both.
Goose deterrence using laser technology
Laser deterrence is especially effective in the winter months, as well as at dusk and night, as a method for wild goose control. The green laser beam triggers an immediate flight instinct in the birds, causing them to leave the fields and arable areas. This method is particularly environmentally friendly and offers high effectiveness.
Drive away geese using birds‑of‑prey decoys
The lifelike replicas of birds of prey produce natural bird control. Geese can hardly tell the difference from a real predator, because the decoy makes unpredictable movements in the wind. By regularly changing the location of the decoy, the deterrent effect can be increased further.

Symbol of Peace or Object of Hate – When the pigeon becomes a nuisance
Pigeons have been known as symbols of peace for centuries. However, what was once a symbol of harmony can today become a real nuisance. Especially in urban areas, but also in the countryside, pigeons increasingly cause problems. They leave not only unsightly dirt but also pose a health risk. Pigeon droppings can contain dangerous pathogens, and the birds picking at seeds often lead to economic damage, especially in agriculture.
Pigeons: Intelligent and adaptable animals
Pigeons are highly adaptable and show little fear of humans. This makes pigeon control a challenge. Once accustomed, pigeons are not easily driven away. If they realize no real danger comes from a measure, they return and occupy the same spot again. Therefore, it is important to repel pigeons long-term and effectively while regularly using new strategies.
How can you repel pigeons?
To prevent a pigeon infestation, there are various methods that are effective and sustainable:
Loud noises for deterrence: Pigeons dislike sudden, loud noises. Devices like Purivox noise deterrent devices reliably drive the birds away. These devices create loud, irregular sounds that shock the pigeons and permanently scare them off. The adjustable volume and frequency prevent habituation, ensuring effective pigeon control.
Laser for scaring away: At dusk or in the dark, pigeons are especially sensitive to visual stimuli. A green laser beam triggers a flight instinct in the birds, causing them to quickly leave the area. This method is particularly suitable for use in the evening hours or during winter months when pigeons are often especially active.
Bird of prey decoys: Pigeons have natural enemies, especially birds of prey. An effective way to repel pigeons is using bird of prey decoys. These offer a silent, environmentally friendly solution for pigeon control by giving the pigeons the illusion that a predator is nearby.
The importance of regularly adjusting pigeon control
Successful pigeon control is not a one-time act but requires continuous adjustments. Since pigeons are very intelligent and adaptable, the methods used must also be varied regularly. Simple measures like removing food sources or making landing areas inaccessible are important but not always sufficient to drive the pigeons away permanently.
Protect your home and fields from pigeons!
If you want to protect your fields, gardens, or buildings from pigeons, the use of effective pigeon control products is indispensable. With high-quality bird deterrent devices, as offered by Purivox, you get a reliable and sustainable solution to repel pigeons long-term and effectively.

Seagulls on the coast and inland
Seagulls are not only a familiar sight at the North and Baltic Seas. Increasingly, they are also appearing inland, where they settle in cities, lakes, and rivers. What seems idyllic to tourists can quickly become a problem for residents and businesses. Seagulls are difficult to drive away and deliberately seek places where they can find food and nesting sites. As a result, seagull deterrence is becoming increasingly important both on the coast and inland.
Why seagulls become a nuisance
These birds are intelligent, adaptable, and highly assertive. They tear open garbage bags, disturb guests at restaurants, and dirty buildings and vehicles. Aggressive attacks during the breeding season can also be dangerous. Especially for businesses, seagulls pose a hygiene and economic risk. Therefore, more and more cities and companies are seeking professional ways to scare off seagulls and create long-term peace.
Effectively and sustainably scaring off seagulls
To drive away seagulls, it is often not enough to rely on simple measures such as noise or visual stimuli. Effective seagull deterrence combines different methods that keep the birds away permanently. Particularly effective are:
BirdGard devices: They emit seagull alarm and warning calls at irregular and freely adjustable intervals.
Noise deterrent devices: With irregular loud noises and variable settings that prevent habituation, they ensure that seagulls avoid the area.
Laser technology: Modern systems repel birds effectively and humanely. This method is particularly suitable for use in the evening or during winter months.
Bird of prey decoys: Visual illusions that instinctively scare seagulls away.
Combining these methods ensures that birds cannot get used to a single deterrent measure.

Starlings in viticulture and fruit growing
Starlings are among the most intelligent songbirds in Europe and can quickly become a problem in vineyards, orchards, and plantations. While they are interesting for nature enthusiasts, they pose a serious threat to farmers and winemakers, as they can damage fruits and berries massively in a short time. Targeted starling deterrence is therefore crucial to prevent crop losses and ensure product quality. With the right methods, starlings can be driven away before they cause major damage.
Why starlings become a nuisance
Starlings often appear in large flocks, especially during migration periods. A single bird causes little damage, but flocks of hundreds or even thousands can strip entire fields and orchards bare. Their intelligence, adaptability, and rapid habituation to new environments make them particularly persistent. Without targeted starling deterrence measures, driving away starlings becomes a permanent challenge for fruit growers and winemakers.
Effectively and sustainably scaring off starlings
To drive away starlings, there are several reliable options:
Purivox noise deterrent devices: The irregular, individually adjustable triple shot scares starlings immediately and keeps flocks away.
BirdGard devices: Especially effective near residential areas are acoustic devices that play starlings' panic and warning calls at irregular intervals.
Bird of prey decoys: Visual illusions that drive starlings away from the protected area.
Other options such as reflective tape and balloons complement starling deterrence optimally.
Combining these methods ensures that starlings do not get used to individual measures and are driven away sustainably.
Purivox – your partner for starling problems

Cranes – Bird migration in spring and autumn
Cranes are impressive migratory birds that travel long distances every spring and autumn between their breeding and wintering areas. During migration, they often form large flocks that rest on fields and meadows. This can quickly become a challenge for farmers. Effective crane deterrence helps scare off cranes and protect fields and crops in a targeted way.
Why cranes cause massive costs in agriculture
Cranes search for food at their resting places, especially on cornfields, cereal crops, and freshly sown fields. Large flocks cause significant damage: plants are eaten, seeds destroyed, and fields contaminated. Without suitable crane deterrence measures, high economic losses occur. Farmers need to act early to drive away cranes and secure their harvest.
Effectively and sustainably scaring off cranes
To scare off cranes, farmers and municipalities rely on proven methods that have long-term effects:
Noise deterrent devices: Generate targeted noise impulses that scare cranes, as they do not like unexpected sudden sounds.
Laser technology: Particularly suitable in villages and mixed areas to gently and humanely repel cranes. Most effective during dim morning and evening hours. The green laser beam creates the impression that something is moving in their immediate vicinity, triggering their flight instinct and causing them to leave the area.
Combining these measures ensures that cranes do not get used to individual deterrent methods. Professional crane deterrence sustainably protects fields and crops from damage.
Purivox – your partner for crane problems

Cormorants – The skillful fish hunters of the waters
Cormorants live primarily in lakes, rivers, coasts, and wetlands. They reach a body length of about 70 to 100 cm and have a wingspan of approximately 120 to 160 cm.
They feed mainly on fish, preferring specimens with a body length of ten to twenty centimeters. Cormorants breed in colonies, either on coastal cliffs or inland on trees. Often, the strong, lime-rich droppings of the birds damage the leaves, making the trees appear bare in cormorant colonies. Despite these effects on vegetation, cormorant populations remain stable.
When cormorants threaten fish stocks...
Although cormorants are considered beneficial in many regions because they help maintain fish population balance, they are often seen as competition by fisheries. Cormorants specifically target ponds with easily accessible food. In carp and trout farming, they not only cause significant fish losses but can also injure the fish. Without professional cormorant deterrence, substantial economic damage can occur. Farmers and pond managers must act early to scare off cormorants and secure their stocks long-term. In some countries, special protection measures exist to balance species conservation with fisheries interests.
Effectively and sustainably scaring off cormorants
To scare off cormorants, a combination of proven methods is recommended:
Purivox noise deterrent devices: Generate targeted noise impulses at irregular intervals, reliably and permanently keeping cormorants away from ponds.
Lasers: Especially effective during early morning or evening hours, gently and humanely repelling cormorants.
Nets: Provide physical protection and prevent the birds from entering the ponds.
Combining these measures ensures that cormorants do not get used to individual methods. Professional cormorant deterrence protects fish stocks long-term and reduces damage permanently.
