The tape also makes metal-like noises in the wind. The bird repellent tape is used in allotments, terraces/balconies, ponds and in orchards. Functional principle The holographic bird repellent tape is attached over the area to be protected. The birds are startled by the strong reflection and leave the area. For best results, always apply the repellent tape before birds start to cause damage. To protect fruit trees and vines, or to deter birds from nesting in gutters, cut the tape into 1 metre long pieces and hang them up. To protect vegetable plants, seedlings and newly sown lawns, stretch lengths of tape between posts at a height of 0.5 - 1 metre above the ground.
